For the past six months, poultry farmers in the UK have been required to keep their birds indoors to prevent the spread of avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu. This "flockdown" was implemented to mitigate the risk of transmission, particularly during peak migration seasons for wild birds, which are often carriers of the virus. The restrictions have now been lifted, allowing free-range chickens and other poultry to roam freely outside once again.
