Plaid Cymru, partidul national din Tara Galilor, promite o autonomie mai mare pentru regiune, afirmand ca nu se vor mai supune deciziilor luate la Westminster daca vor castiga alegerile. Liderul partidului a subliniat necesitatea ca Tara Galilor sa aiba mai multa putere de decizie asupra propriilor afaceri, inclusiv in domenii precum economia si politica sociala. Aceasta promisiune electorala vizeaza atragerea electoratului care doreste o mai mare independenta fata de guvernul central.
