Decizia guvernului britanic de a permite medicilor solicitanti de azil sa lucreze in NHS vine ca raspuns la presiunea crescanda asupra sistemului de sanatate. Anterior, acestor medici le era interzis sa practice, chiar daca aveau calificarile necesare. Ridicarea interdictiei are ca scop atenuarea deficitului de personal si imbunatatirea accesului la servicii medicale.
