On the eve of Hungary's elections, Prime Minister Viktor Orban's government has been rocked by an espionage scandal. The intelligence services are said to have tried to infiltrate the opposition Tisza Party.

Ungaria este o țară fără ieșire la mare din Europa Centrală. Se întinde pe 93.030 km² din Bazinul Panonic, se învecinează cu Slovacia la nord, Ucraina la nord-est, România la est și sud-est, Serbia la sud, Croația și Slovenia la sud-vest și Austria la vest. Tisza Party

The Respect and Freedom Party, commonly known by its Hungarian abbreviation Tisza Party, is a conservative and pro-European political party in Hungary founded in 2020. It rapidly rose to prominence when former Fidesz party member Péter Magyar joined; members of his non-party movement "Stand up Hungarians Community" assumed the majority of positions in the party to take part in the 2024 European Parliament election, and won 7 seats in the European Parliament. The party is led by Péter Magyar, who was elected party leader on 22 July 2024. Zoltán Tarr and Andrea Bujdosó are serving as the party's parliamentary leaders in the European Parliament and the General Assembly of Budapest, respectively.

Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution

The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution is Germany's federal domestic intelligence agency. Together with the Landesämter für Verfassungsschutz (LfV) at the state level, the federal agency is tasked with intelligence-gathering on efforts against the liberal democratic basic order, the existence and security of the federation or one of its states, and the peaceful coexistence of peoples; with counter-intelligence; and with protective security and counter-sabotage. The BfV reports to the Federal Ministry of the Interior and tasks and powers are regulated in the Federal Constitutional Protection Act. The last President was Thomas Haldenwang; he had been appointed in 2018 and left office in November 2024. The next president is supposed to be assigned by a new government following the 2025 German federal election.
