Starting November 1st, the EU will levy a tax on small packages from outside the bloc, primarily targeting companies such as Temu, Shein, AliExpress, and Amazon. The estimated tax is around €2 per package. This measure aims to address the competitive disadvantage faced by European retailers who must comply with stricter regulations and taxes. Additionally, a customs duty of €3 will be applied to purchases under €150 starting in July.

EU to target Temu, Shein and other companies with a levy on small packages coming from outside the bloc

The European Union has announced that it will introduce handling fees for non-EU small packages from November 1. The fee will be charged in addition to a customs tax on such items that goes into effect in July.
