Politia australiana a avertizat asupra unei cresteri asteptate a furturilor de petrol, motivand aceasta anticipare prin incidentele tot mai dese inregistrate recent. Pentru a combate aceasta tendinta, autoritatile au solicitat instalarea unui numar mai mare de camere de supraveghere video (CCTV) in statiile de benzina, precum si implementarea sistemului de pompe preplatite.
