In timp ce Statele Unite sunt percepute ca avand o abordare "wild west" in dezvoltarea inteligentei artificiale, China este vazuta ca un "baiat bun", cu o abordare mai controlata si reglementata. Aceasta perceptie este sustinuta de anumiti membri ai Parlamentului, care considera ca abordarea chineza ofera mai multa siguranta si responsabilitate in dezvoltarea AI. Diferentele de abordare intre cele doua tari sunt semnificative.
